The Challenge

Colorado's Children Need This

One in five children struggle with anxiety or depression. Our schools are more structured than ever, yet most students have never experienced the simple joy of watching a bird or understanding their role in nature.

Research shows that regular time in nature can reduce childhood anxiety by up to 55% (Aarhus University / PNAS, 2019) and that a single encounter with birds can improve mental wellbeing for up to 8 hours (King's College London, 2022).

Our Mission
To improve the mental health and well-being of Colorado youth by integrating birdwatching and nature stewardship into K-12 education.
The Vision

A Place to Discover and Grow

We envision a shy student finding their voice while leading a bird walk. An anxious student finding focus while managing a classroom feeder. Entire school communities connected to the rhythm of nature through outdoor learning and live-streamed bird activity.

A perch is where a bird lands, rests, observes, and launches. We're giving Colorado's children that same foundation — a place to discover and grow before they take flight.
